Florence Jean Cummings

Florence J. Cummings, age 83 of Greenfield, IN was carried home by Heavenly Angels on Saturday, October 8, 2016. She was born on April 19, 1933 in Hammond, Indiana to the late Russell and Helen (Rastovski) Chynoweth. Florence obtained her degree in Nursing from St. Margarets Hospital in Hammond, Indiana. She worked as a Registered Nurse in Hawaii in the Nursery, and several other Nursing Homes. She also worked in Home Health Care throughout her career. Florence was married to Elbert Cummings for 24 years from 1961-1986. She enjoyed playing bingo, dancing, and making people happy. She was also a member of the St. Michael Catholic Church. Surviving Florence are her sons, Charles Cummings of Tucson, AZ; Daniel (Cindy) Cummings of Phoenix, AZ; Alan Cummings of Greenfield; daughters, Evelyn Breece of Greenfield; Bonnie (Scott) Kermes of Ana, TX; Gloria (Kevin) Trump of Mission Viejo, CA; brothers, Douglas Chynoweth of Munster, IN; Raymond Chynoweth of Griffith, IN; sisters, Delores Chynoweth of Hammond, IN; Evelyn Sporman of Keller, TX; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren. Florence is preceded in death by her parents whom are listed above, and husband Elbert Cummings. Visitation will be held from 4:00pm until 8:00pm on Friday, October 14, 2016 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, IN 46140. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at St. Michael Catholic Church, 513 North Jefferson Greenfield, IN, 46140 with Fr. Aaron Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow the Mass at Currys Chapel Cemetery in Greenfield, IN. Memorial Contributions in honor of Florence may be sent to the Florence J. Cummings Memorial Fund c/o Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, IN 46140. The funds will be dispersed to several of her favorite charities.
