George A. Crye April 29, 1927 - January 1, 2010 George A. Crye, 82, a resident of McCordsville, passed away Friday, January 1, 2010 at Community Hospital North. He was born April 29, 1927 in Cambridge City, Indiana to the late Casie A. and Martha W. (Moore) Crye. George was a graduate of Hagerstown High School, served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, was a Greyhound bus driver for 30years, Richmond City bus driver for 9 years and drove for the Star of Indiana for 11 years. He was a member of the Greyhound Amalgamated Union and the Jacksonburg Christian Church. He was an avid vegetable gardener, enjoyed camping, was a family man and enjoyed his fellow drivers. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Charmaine Crye of McCordsville; daughters, Rhonda (William) Horton, Rana (Donald) Howard, all of Greenfield; sons, Kenton Crye of Lafayette, IN, Kyle (June) Crye of Greenfield; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Willadean Cheek of Centerville, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Kevin Crye; brother, Ralph Allen Crye; sisters, Irene Petty, Urmalee Doll. Private family services were held Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, Greenfield with full military graveside rites provided by the Greenfield Veterans Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be sent to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association. Comments Grandpa- I will always miss and love you.
