Gloria (Sparks) Haynes

Gloria (Sparks) Haynes, 89, New Palestine, IN, passed away unexpectedly on March 27, 2024. She was born on April 7, 1934, in Whitesburg, KY, to William and Susie (Webb) Sparks. She graduated from Whitesburg High School. She married William Haynes in 1952.

Gloria worked for Western Electric for many years. She loved her family to the fullest and spent nearly every minute she could with her children and grandchildren. In her extra spare time, Gloria loved to fish and took yearly fishing trips with her siblings to Cherokee Lake in KY. Aside from fishing, Gloria also enjoyed quilting, sewing, knitting, and cooking for family and friends.

Gloria is survived by her loving children: Dennis Haynes (Susie Cox), Roger Haynes, and Mike Haynes; 8 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; siblings, Carl Sparks and Larry Sparks; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill of 42 years; daughter, Sheilah Holbrook; and several siblings.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Cumberland Chapel, 11636 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN 46229, with the service immediately following at 1:00 p.m., with her brother, Carl Sparks officiating.
