Hazel "Lucille" Cropper, age 87 of Shelbyville, IN passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Hickory Creek Nursing Home in Greensburg, IN. She was born on April 29, 1929 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Dewey and Hazel (Smith) Dora.
Lucille graduated from Shortridge High School in Indianapolis and would spend her life working as an aviation machinist for the KT Corporation in Shelbyville. Lucille was involved with the Womens Civil Air Patrol for many years and was a former herbalist. Lucille enjoyed arts & crafts, puzzles, reading, gardening, and canning.
Lucille is survived by her sons; Johnell Rodgers of Pendleton, Damon Rogers of Shelbyville, Brad Rogers of Carthage, daughters; Jalene Brown of Hendersonville, TN, Peggy Rogers of Cocoa, FL, step-daughters; Opal Wilson of Onalaska, TX, Brenda Brooks of Carthage, brother; Ted Dora of Shelbyville, sister; Bonnie Capshaw of Indianapolis, 9 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 13 step great-grandchildren, and 3 step great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents listed above, 1st husband Harvey Rogers, 2nd husband Elmer Cropper, brothers; Philip Dora, James Dora, Dewey Dora Jr. and sister Loretta Spencer.
Visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at the funeral home with burial immediately following the service at Bennett Cemetery in Shelby County.
