Helen Marie Brooks

Helen Marie (Roberts) Brooks, 88, went to be with her Lord on May 30, 2021. She was born in Hancock County, IN, on December 13, 1932 to the late Harlan Andrew Roberts and Edna (Sweezy) Roberts Sexson. Her loving husband of 72 years, Wayne Brooks, preceded her in death on May 2, 2021. Helen loved children and she devoted her life to them. After her family was grown, she was employed as a nanny for many years. She also loved her home. She enjoyed gardening and interior design. She was a member of the First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. Helen is survived by her daughters: Connie (Tim) Wilson, Paula Bell, Trudy Labrecque, Cindy (Sherwood) Haydock; son, Wayne (Cathy) Brooks; sisters: Linda Hornaday, Marcia (Paul) Scott, and Andy (Eddie) Macy; brother, David (Darlene) Roberts; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; parents; sisters: Thelma Middleton, Ethel Harshman, and Beverly Swafford; and brothers: Charles Roberts, Wendell Roberts, Jack Roberts, James Roberts, and Thomas Roberts. A graveside service for Helen will be held on Friday, June 4, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Park Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband, Wayne Brooks.
