Herbert D Plummer

Herbert D. Plummer October 26, 1922 - December 28, 2006 Herbert D. Plummer, 84, of Greenfield, passed away Thursday December 28 at his home. Born on a farm in Shelby County to the late Merrill and Ethel (Schilling) Plummer on October 26, 1922, he married Bette Hunt on January 29, 1948. A WWII Purple Heart recipient with 5 battle stars, Mr. Plummer drove an Army M10 tank destroyer in the Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, and Ardennes-Alsace campaigns with the 803rd Tank Destroyer Battalion. He retired from Eli Lilly Greenfield Labs in 1985 after 35 years of service. Mr. Plummer is survived by his brother, Raymond Plummer, sister, Dona Smith, and sons Rick, Tim, and Brad Plummer, and preceded in death by wife Bette and sister Laverne Abel. Services will be held at 1 P.M. on Tuesday January 2nd, 2007 at Pasco-Stillinger Funeral Home in Greenfield, with calling from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. Tuesday prior to the service. Committal Service will be at the Chapel at Washington Park East, Indianapolis.
