Herman Harris

Herman Harris April 3, 1940 - October 23, 2010 Herman Harris, 70, a resident of Greenfield, passed away Saturday, October 23, 2010 at the Golden Living Center Brandywine, Greenfield. He was born April 3, 1940 in Manchester, Kentucky to the late Morton and Adeline (Loughran) Harris. Herman served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era, retired in 1994 as a HVAC installation technician, was a member of the Greenfield VFW and Bethel Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling and was an avid sports fan. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Elva (Barton) Harris of Greenfield; sons, Herman Russell Harris, David Leon, Dennis Floyd, all of Greenfield; seven grandchildren, Aron Michael, Ashley Marie, Joshua Adam, Dennis Floyd II, DeeAnn Renee, Daniel Lee and Zachariah Nathan; sisters, Paulette Watson of Barbourville, KY; Glenna Jane Dearinger of Oklahoma, OK; Janet Sue Goins of Hamilton, OH; Mary Ella Steiner of Greenfield; brother, Donnie Harris of Manchester, KY; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Bobby Gene, Bruce, Luther and James Morton. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, Greenfield with Brother Randall Parker officiating. Friends may call Tuesday, October 26, 2010 from 4:00 until 8:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery, Greenfield with full military rites provided by the Greenfield Veterans Honor Guard.
