Ira Granville Key, 60, Greenfield, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025. Ira was born on March 22, 1965, in Greenfield, to James Everett and Mescall (Caudell) Key.
As most of the Hardee's crew on U.S. 40 have been with the restaurant for multiple years, Ira, too, was employed with them for many. He loved to socialize with all the patrons. He never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone at any time. He was the hardest worker. His dedication won him many awards over the course of years. His fellow colleagues and customers will miss him. In Ira's free time, he enjoyed listening to rock music as KISS and ACDC were his favorites, was a horror movie buff, watched wrestling and football on TV, loved the outdoors, enjoyed the fall season as the leaves turned their colors while in Brown County, worshiped coffee, and his children fondly remember vacationing with him in Florida.
Ira is survived by his loving children, Rachel Andis and Matthew Key; grandchildren, Madalynn Andis and Greyson Andis; siblings: Lisa Smith, Dawn (Wayne) Houston, Rebecca Sanders, and James Key, Jr; many nieces and nephews; and mother of his children, June Ijokoh.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life will be held for all in the months to come. If you would like to sign the online guest book or send condolences to the family, you may do so by visiting www.stillingerfamily.com
