Irma Mcpherson-Bliss

Irma May McPherson-Bliss, age 93, passed away Friday, September 6, 2019 at Community Hospital in Anderson. She was born October 28, 1925 in Kokomo, Indiana to the late Opal and Edith (Leeds) Rush. Irma married James H. McPherson on May 15, 1943. Irma was a wonderful mother and grandmother and was known by all as "Momma and Granny". She loved to camp with her family and did so until 2018. Irma enjoyed all type of crafting and crocheting. She was a proud Past President of American War Mothers, Indiana Chapter, a 47-year member of the VFW #2693 Auxiliary and proudly received her G.E.D. at the age of 65. Prior to her retirement in 2005, until the age of 80, Irma worked as a caregiver for the "elderly". She is survived by her children, Roger (Debbie Mason) McPherson, Elsie Austin, Donna McPherson, Maurice "Butch" (Brenda) McPherson, Steven (Patty) McPherson, Valarie (Chuck) Seagraves, Diana (Rick) Koprowski; Debbie Bliss, Alvin Bliss Jr., Carmen Bliss; sister, Chloe (Carl) Lopez Eberhart; 38 grandchildren; 52 great grandchildren and 17 great-great grandchildren. Irma is preceded in death by her parents; husband James H. McPherson; 2nd husband, Alvin L. Bliss; sons, James E. McPherson and Larry E. Austin; 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Friends may call 4-8 pm, Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, Indiana 46140. Funeral service 10 am, Thursday with James Leisure officiating. Burial immediately following at Park Cemetery, Greenfield.
