Irving Vincent Kenney, age 92 of Greenfield, passed away Tuesday January 17, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born August 7, 1924 to the late Walter and Julia (Murphy) Kenney.
Irving was in the Navy, and a World War II veteran. He married the love of his life, Norma Jean Kenney, on July 20, 1964. He belonged to many organizations including the Pioneers of America, Lucent Retirees, and American Legion Post 119. He loved playing golf, traveling, playing card games, bird watching, working in his yard and spending time with his family.
Irving is survived by his wife Norma Kenney, sons, William Kenney, Robert Kenney and James Kenney; daughters, Sandra Knox and Christina (John) Duffy; grandsons, Charles Cooksey, David Michael Knox and Andrew Duffy; granddaughters, Christina (Mike) Horrall, Terri (Ryan) Leffas, Karri (William) Low, Lara Duffy and Leah Duffy; and great-grandchildren, Ella Horrall, Jenna Horrall, Mikey Horrall and Kaleb Leffas.
Preceding him in death are his parents, whom are listed above, step-father Edward Hawkins; brothers, Robert Kenney, Richard Kenney and Donald Kenney; step-brothers, David Hawkins and Lewis Hawkins; sisters, Shirley Shinn and Kathleen Kenney; and step-sister Janet LeMar.
Visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Friday January 20, 2017 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00am on Saturday January 21, 2017 at St. Michael Catholic Church, 519 Jefferson Blvd, Greenfield, IN 46140 with burial immediately following at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
