Jacob "Jake" Lee Andis

Jacob Lee Andis, 90, Greenfield, passed away on Friday, November 15, 2024. Born into a siblinghood of 8, Jake was born on August 1, 1934, in Greenfield, to John Earl and Zelda Lucille (Gamble) Andis. He married the love of his life, Betty J. Pryor, on November 10, 1951.

Jake worked as a repairman on the assembly line at NaviStar for 31 years, retiring in 1985. He had a mischievous demeanor. Jake loved to sit on his front porch and wave hello to all passerbyers. When not sitting outdoors, he enjoyed watching TV in his recliner, especially football, basketball, and racing. He enjoyed going to the casino's and was an avid scratch-off lottery ticket purchaser. Jake was in the National Guard for 9+ years.

Jake is survived by his children: Diana Massie of Greenfield, Patricia Smith of Shelbyville, Jenny Brewer of Greenfield, Doyle Andis of Greenfield, and David Andis of Anderson; many, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and sister, Bonnie Arens of Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty J. of 70 years; daughters, Theresa Andis and Susan Slifer; and siblings: Nancy, Prisilla Chapel, Ervin Andis, Joe Andis, Bob Andis, and Bill Andis.

Please join the family for visitation on Thursday, November 21, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
