James A. Ellenberger, 80 of Greenfield, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at St. Vincents Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on February 18, 1936 in Lawrence, IN to the late Charles and Katherine (Bell) Ellenberger.
James graduated from Lawrence Central High School and spent his life working as a diesel mechanic. He owned and operated Reliable Lawn Service, and E&E Excavation. James also worked for Fisk Inc., Eds Pools, BFI, and C & B Building Removal. James was an avid Football & Nascar fan, he loved to fish and he cherished time spent with his family.
James is survived by his wife, Cynthia (Stanley) Ellenberger whom he married on December 25, 1992; sons, Steve and Scott Ellenberger both of Greenfield; daughters, Debbie Beekman of Denver, CO, Sara Morton of Mooreland, IN, Sheena Lowder of Shirley, Abby Russell of New Palestine; brother, Jerry Ellenberger of Albuquerque, NM; sister, Diane DEE Fisk Phillips of Greenfield; 21 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2016 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield, 1780 W. Main St. Greenfield, IN 46140. Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 18, 2016 at 10:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Brackney officiating.
