James Martin Padgett

James Martin Padgett, 72 years old, of Greenfield - Rush County, passed away May 13, 2026, at his residence. He was born October 17, 1953, in Greenfield, Indiana to the late James R. and Betty (Martin) Padgett.

James was a graduate of Greenfield High School and retired from Allison’s Transmission after 34 years of service in the quality assurance division. He attended St. Michael Catholic Church, enjoyed woodworking, being a handyman and loved to tinker with mechanical things.

He is survived by his children, Simon (Marivic) Padgett, Rebecca (Ryan) Ogle, Sarah Padgett, siblings, Mary Ann (Dennis) Harrold, Margaret(Peggy) (husband Bob) Cedoz, David (Marsha) Padgett, Douglas Padgett, grandchildren, Chase, Mia, Meadow, Roman, Rolston, several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents listed above, brothers, Terry Michael and Daniel Padgett.

Graveside service will be 10:00 am Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at Park Cemetery, Greenfield. Stillinger Family Funeral Home has been honored to care for James and his family during this difficult time.
