James L. Pressner June 17, 1950 - July 19, 2013
James L. Pressner, age 63 years, a resident of Greenfield passed away, Friday July 19, 2013 at his residence.
He was born June 17, 1950 in East Chicago, Indiana to the late Joseph D. and Marjorie (Lansen) Pressner.
He received his bachelors degree from St. Joseph Calumet College, his masters in education from Valparaiso University and his ED.S. from Purdue University. James served his country for 32 years as an Army Reserve Lt. Colonel in the 308th Civil Affairs Company, Homewood, Ill. and served in Desert Storm, Bosnia, Iraqi Freedom and received 2 Bronze Stars. He served as principal for Franklin County High School, Brookville, Ind. South Central High School, Elizabeth, Ind. Covington High School, Covington, Ind. and retired in 2004 as Assistant Superintendent of Schools in Sunman, Indiana. He was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church, Greenfield American Legion Post #119, and served on the board of directors for the Parkinsons Awareness Association of Central Indiana. He enjoyed golfing and hunting in his spare time.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Petruch) Pressner of Greenfield, son, Bryan (Beth Lemmerman) Pressner, daughter, Sarah (Timothy) Young both of Greenfield, brothers, Joseph (Sharon) Pressner of Fishers, Jerome (Michelle Pannell) of Crown Point , John (Laura) Pressner of Crown Point, sister-in-laws, Diane (Ted) Greiff of Valparaiso, Brenda (Tim) Murray and sons of Valparaiso, brother-in-law, David Petruch of Portage and a grandson, Camden Young of Greenfield.
Visitation will be from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. (EST) Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield. A funeral mass will be at 10:00 a.m. (EST) Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Greenfield. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. Central Time, Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, Ind. with military graveside rites.
