James Rutherford

James H. Rutherford, 91 of Kennewick, WA passed away on February 10th, 2018. He was born in Louellen, Ky on December 9,1926 to Charles and Sarah Rutherford. James was the last of 13 children. He spent his early years in Harlan County, Kentucky until 1936 when his family moved to Deputy, IN. James was a graduate of Deputy High School. During his early years he sailed with the Merchant Marine for about 3 three years. He attended the Merchant Marine Academy, Hanover College and Indiana Institute of Technoloy. He worked for Ford Motor, Western Electric, Hancock County and various Engineering firms over his 40 year career. James married Dorothy Moore of Milton, Ky in 1957. They built three houses as they worked and raised their family. James enjoyed his retirement years taking care of his garden. James and Dorothy located to Greenfield in 1968 and were active at Calvary Baptist Church. They were grateful for their Church family and neighbors who were always helping and sharing their friendship. James is survived by Lisa Dailey; daughter, Marshall Dailey; son-in-law, Kristen Dailey; grandaughter, Mitchell Dailey; grandson, Michael Rutherford; son, Lynn Rutherford; daughter-in-law, Steven Rutherford: grandson. Visitation for James will be held from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday, February 16, 2018 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield, 1780 W. Main St, Greenfield, IN 46140. A graveside service will be held at 11:00am at Moffett Cemetery in Milton, KY.
