James W. Spilker, 85, of Greenfield, Indiana, passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, July 14, 2026. James was born on June 11, 1941, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the late Delbert and Inez (Wampner) Spilker.

He graduated in 1959 from Warren Central High School. After high school, James worked for farmers in the Cumberland area before owning and operating Spilker Welding. He also enjoyed helping his father with his trucking business, vegetable gardening, antique shopping, and collecting Griswold cast iron.

James is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Diana L. (Wood) Spilker, whom he married on January 20, 1968; his sons, Rod (Claudine) Spilker, Gary Spilker; sister, Darlene Spilker; grandson, Aaron (Kim) Spilker; and great-grandchildren, Andrew, Zachary, Chloe, and Olivia.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Edwards; his grandson, Jacob Spilker; and his great-grandson, Timothy Michael Spilker.

A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, July 20, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Hendryx Chapel, 11636 E. Washington Street, Cumberland, Indiana 46229.
