James Richard Trent

James Richard Trent, 76, Greenfield, passed away at home on Friday, September 29, 2023, surrounded by loving family. He was born on December 18, 1946, in Greenfield, IN, to Glen Richard and Crystal Christine (Smith) Trent. He graduated from Arsenal Tech High School in Indianapolis. James served in the U.S. Navy from November 1964 to December 1967. He married his love, Candie Jill Nolte on May 9, 1973.

James worked in quality control for Roll Coater metal fabricating in Greenfield for 45+ years. James was a quiet, simple, basic man. He was an avid golfer. He attended Curry's Chapel Church.

He is survived by his loving wife Candie Trent of 50 years; their children, Aaron James (Linda) Trent and Jasmine Kalyca Trent Tidrow; grandchildren: Kylan Trent, Cora Trent, Liam Trent, Jonathan Tidrow, Lauren Tidrow and Joshua Foster; great-granddaughter, Raelyn Tidrow; siblings, Rosemary Dern and Shawn Trent; and several nieces and nephews.

James was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, David Trent and Charles Trent.

Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Greenfield, is of service to the Trent family during their loss. Visitation, funeral services, and military burial rites will all be private to family and Curry Chapel Church members.
