Janet Katherine Holden

Janet Katherine Holden, 85, passed away unexpectedly on September 9, 2022. She was born July 19, 1937, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to William Cleo and Katherine Lucille (Beaven) Holden.

Janet was affectionally known to many as "Mama" or "Grandma Janet." She was a prominent member of Shares, Inc., Greenfield as well as the Candlelite Group Home, Greenfield. Janet could light up a room with her infectious demeanor, smile, and loving personality. She was sweet and innocent. Her care for others was above all. She cherished her close friends, Kenny Estelle, Mary Hugill, Rosie Frederick, and her late best friend, Aggie Hunt. She loved to dance. Janet participated in Special Olympics. She also enjoyed the cruises put on by Shares, Inc as well as the Friendship Bible Studies. She could also be seen visiting with Pastor Paul often. Janet locally attended church in the Greenfield area.

Janet considered most that she encountered to be family. A special acknowledgement goes to staff members over the 85 wonderful years of Janet's life who aided care, supplied love, and gave her endless attention.

She is survived by sister, Martha Reger; half-brother, Roy Holden; and many nieces and nephews.

Janet is preceded in death by her father, William Holden; mother, Lucille Johnson; sisters, Faye Andis and Phyllis Wadley; and brothers, Joe Holden and Robert Holden.

Visitation will be on Monday, September 19, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, with the service starting at 6:00 p.m. Janet will be laid to rest next to her mother in Park Cemetery.
