Jasmine Nichole Sherwood, 41, Greenfield, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2025, with her loving family by her side. Jasmine was born on March 11, 1983, in Chula Vista, CA, to James Eldon and Susan Kay (Smith) Sherwood. She is a 2001 graduate of Greenfield Central High School. She obtained her bachelor's degree in psychology from IUPUI- Purdue University and her master's degree in social work from IUPUI- Indiana University.
Jasmine's two daughters were the apples of her eyes. She loved being their mother. Jasmine lived life to the fullest and enjoyed spending time with her children, family, and friends. She often camped and indulged in trips with friends. She loved cooking, reading, painting, and watching the Food Network as well as The Office. Jasmine and her sister often shared The Office insights with one another when no one else knew what they were talking about. Jasmine's artistic ability was evident at the age of middle school when she won the annual school Christmas card design. As Jasmine was strong and dedicated, she endured a 7-year battle with colon cancer. She courageously signed up for cancer trials and was fond of her association with Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute in Nashville, TN. Jasmine most recently worked as a hospice social worker for Suburban Hospice. Prior, she worked in different roles at Hancock Regional Hospital. Jasmine attended Brandywine Community Church.
Jasmine is survived by her two beautiful daughters, Samantha Lawrence and Molly Lawrence; her parents, James and Susan Sherwood; sister, Justine (Colonel) May; boyfriend, Chad Colston; 2 cats, Levon and Lollipop, grandma, Judith Smith; uncle, Scott Sherwood; aunt, Rebecca (Gary) John; niece, Lucy May; nephew, CJ May; and many other extended family members.
Jasmine was preceded in death by her grandpa, Wayne Smith; uncle, Lonnie Smith; grandpa, Richard Sherwood; and grandma, Shirley Sherwood -Robinson.
Stillinger Family Funeral Home is of assistance to the Sherwood families during this very difficult time of loss. A Celebration of Life will be held in the future.
