Jerry Lewis Davis, 73, Greenfield, passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021. He was born on March 20, 1948 in Indianapolis to Robert and Betty (Carpenter) Davis. He graduated from John Marshall High School in Indianapolis. He then entered the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam.
Jerry worked for IMI for 28 years driving their concrete mixing trucks. Although a simple man, Jerry would give the shirt off of his back to help in any way possible. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a huge NASCAR fan, loved country music, mowed the neighbors' yards, was a neat-freak, supported the local police department, loved to build and paint things, and was a massive jokester.
Jerry is survived by his loving children: Brandy (David) Peterson, Tia Davis, and Justin Davis (significant other, Jackie Hankins); 7 grandchildren: Brayton Leisure, Jonathon Poppino, Andrew Poppino, Jacob Foster, Hunter Holthouser, Savanna Davis, and Marissa Holthouser; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Sandy Kirby; niece, Brenda Mocas; nephew, J.D. Fortner; close family friends, Ro & Richie Turner and family; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Davis and mother, Betty L. Rombolt.
Visitation will be on Friday, May 28, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. noon at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 W. Main Street, Greenfield, IN, with the service immediately following at 12:00 p.m. Burial will take place in Park Cemetery with military honors afforded. Memorial contributions may be made to the Greenfield Police Department.
