Jerry Ray Stephens

Jerry Ray Stephens, 70, Greenfield, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024, with his loving family by his side. Jerry was born on March 12, 1954, in Greenfield, to Joseph A. and Lois M. (Gossage) Stephens. Jerry married Donna Jean Rockey on September 2, 1972.

Jerry was a quiet man. His belief in working hard was a core staple of his beliefs. When not working, Jerry enjoyed eating pizza, going to the racetrack, and garage saling. He was a devout husband, father, and grandfather and cherished all moments he was able to spend with his family. Jerry was of the Christian faith. He worked for Rollcoater on the assembly line for 18 years before retiring. Alongside working in the factory, Jerry also head speared his own construction company, Stephens Home Improvement, for nearly 30 years.

Jerry is survived by his loving children: John (Dawn) Stephens of Mays, Jeremy (Mindy) Stephens of Greenfield, and Tommy (Misty) Stephens of Gas City; 8 grandchildren: Kaitlyn, April, Logan, Faith, Angelia, MaKenzie, Sarah, and Natalie; 4 great-grandchildren: Ellie, Emery, Caden, and new addition, Colter; siblings: Joseph Larry Stephens, Judy Kimberlin, and Darrell Stephens; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Donna Duty.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Donna of 48 years; sister, Janice Stephens Blackford; and brother, Jimmy Stephens.

Visitation will be on Thursday, September 19, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield. The funeral service will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Pastor Linda Adams. Burial will take place in Park Cemetery.
