Jerry Tongate January 6, 1959 - January 4, 2015 Jerry Tongate, 55, formally of Greenfield, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Methodist Hospital. Jerry was born to Johnsie (Smith) and Jerry Tongate on January 6, 1959. He attended Greenfield Schools. Jerry was a factory worker in the asphalt industry for most of his life. He was an avid reader, whom didnt discriminate between genres, he enjoyed anything he got his hands on. His other passion was fishing, specifically catfish. He never kept any, he just enjoyed the thrill of catching them. Jerry was a loving brother who will be missed. Jerry is survived by his brothers, George Tongate of Greenfield, John (Patty) Tongate of Westfield, and Richard Tongate of FL; his sister Margaret Whiteman of Greenfield; and his mother, Johnsie Tongate. Jerry is preceded in death by his father, Jerry Tongate. A public visitation for Jerry will be held Friday from 3-7PM at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, 1780 W Main St, Greenfield, IN 46140. Funeral services will begin at 7. The family has asked that casual attire be worn. Memorial contributions may be made in Jerrys honor to Hancock Regional Hospital, Designate Hospice, 801 N State St, Greenfield, IN 46140.
