Jim R. Roome March 21, 1934 - November 15, 2012 Jim R. Roome age 78 years, a resident of New Palestine died Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Hancock Regional Hospital Hospice. He was born March 21, 1934 in Indianapolis, Ind. to the late Wilbur Roome & Mary (Dokes) Greenwood. Jim retired from Farrar Electric and was a jack of all trades that enjoyed carpentry and mechanic work. He loved fishing, camping, hunting, spending time with his family and loved to keep busy working. He is survived by his wife, Lois (Hammond) Roome of New Palestine, sons, Jim of Corona, Calif., Rick of Greenfield, Tim of Indianapolis, Ron of LaMirada, Calif., Dan of Greenwood, brother, Warren of Indianapolis, sister, Betty Trulock of Indianapolis, 19 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Ralph. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 19, 2012 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield. Burial will follow at Union Chapel Cemetery, Indianapolis. Visitation will be Monday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
