Joan Marie (Uebelhor) Asher 92, of Greenfield, IN passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, January 9, 2025. Joan was born on December 21, 1932, in Jasper, IN to the late Leonard H. and Stella (Dudine) Uebelhor. Joan received her Nursing degree in 1953 from St. Vincent's School of Nursing, Indianapolis, IN. As she was raising her family, she earned her BS Degree in Nursing. She had a successful rewarding nursing career, ending her career as the school nurse for the Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation, retiring in 1991.
She was an avid oil painter earning many awards at the James Whitcomb Riley Festival. Many of her paintings she gave to her friends and family will be greatly cherished. Joan enjoyed many travels with her husband, visiting all parts of the United States and Canada. Joan was devoted to her faith and to her family.
Joan is survived by her loving husband, Richard D. Asher; children, Elise Langenberg and Lynn Langenberg; siblings; Lillian (Uebelhor) McKenna, William Uebelhor, Marilyn "Mimi" (Uebelhor) (Rock) Alberts, Bob Uebelhor, John Uebelhor and Rick (Wanda) Uebelhor; numerous nieces and nephews, including her Godson, Mike Uebelhor.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 3 sisters: Bernice (Uebelhor) Fehribach, Margaret (Uebelhor) Shope, and Dorothy (Uebelhor) Birkemeier.
Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Cumberland, is honored to assist the Asher and Langenberg families during their time of loss.
