John Merrill

John E. Merrill Sr. 80 years, of Greenfield passed away April 1, 2019 at Hancock Regional Hospital. John was born February 22, 1939 in Indianapolis to the late Lloyd & Laura (Titus) Merrill. He graduated from Arsenal Tech High School, worked in the construction industry installing siding and later as a handler for FedEx. John loved spending time with his family and was known as a perfectionist. He was a former Boy Scout Leader in New Palestine. He is survived by his wife, Kay Ellen (Hewitt) Merrill of Greenfield, whom he married on December 17, 1977, sons, Michael Merrill of Indianapolis, Ryan (Kelsey) Merrill of Brownsburg, daughter, Jennifer (Kyle) Hawley of Greenfield, sister, Marcella (Jim) Jackson of Indianapolis, sons, John Jr. of Greenwood, Kevin of Colorado, Tony Merrill of Indianapolis, daughter, Tina Finch of Florida, grandchildren, Jaden Schutt, Ethan Merrill, Kailey Mayotte and Addison Merrill. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Lloyd, Ronnie, Tom, sister, Pat Hone and 3 grandchildren. At Johns request there will be no services.
