John M Stoner May 15, 1920 - June 29, 2011 John M. Stoner, 91, a resident of Carthage, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at Golden Living Center - Brandywine in Greenfield. He was born May 15, 1920 in Mt. Comfort, IN to the late Hosea D. and Faye L. Stoner. John attended Carthage High School; he was employed by Carthage Container Corporation for nearly 40 years before retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Walnut Ridge Friends Church in Carthage. John enjoyed farming, fishing and hunting. He is survived by brothers, William "Bill" (Martha) Stoner of Greenfield, Charles L. "Charlie" (Maryln) Stoner of Fort Wayne; sisters, Elizabeth L. (Robert)(Stoner) Barnhart of Greenfield and Martha E. (Stoner) Dobbins of Greenfield. John was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Robert N. Stoner and sister, Kathleen Stoner. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at Park Cemetery, Greenfield. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield.
