JUST " SO HAPPEN I BOUGHT AN INDY STAR THE OTHER DAY AND SAW THIS IN THERE. I USED TO WORK WITH JOHN AT ALLISON ENGINE COMPANY,NOW, ROLL-ROYCE. WHEN I HIRED IN IN THE 70'S WE WORKED TOGETHER IN PLANT 11. THEN WHEN JOHN AND I WORKED LAST TOGETHER BEFORE HE TRANSFERRED TO G.M. WE WERE IN ASSEMBLY AT PLANT 5. I NEVER WILL FORGET WHEN HE BROKE HIS ANKLE THE CIRCUMSTANCES WERE REALLY QUITE FUNNY AND JOHN ALWAYS HAD A GOOD RESPONSE FOR EVERYTHING. WE CALLED HIM DR. BECAUSE HE SAID HE WENT TO SCHOOL TO BE A DOCTOR (SHRINK). IT WAS REALLY WEIRD I WAS JUST THINKING OF SOME OF THE PEOPLE I USED TO WORK WITH AND HAD NOT SEEN FOR SOME TIME AND HE WAS ONE OF THEM.I HOPE HE GOT TO RETIRE AND ENJOY SOME OF HIS LATER YEARS. I DON'T KNOW THE CAUSE OF HIS DEMISE BUT I HOPE HE DIDN'T SUFFER OR WAS PUT THROUGH ANY PAIN. HE WAS A VERY GOOD FRIEND. THEY ALL CALLED ME FLUFFY SO THAT IS WHAT HE CALLED ME FROM THE EARLY 80'S. I AM SORRY FOR THE FAMILY FOR THEIR LOSS AND HOPE THEY ARE GETTING ALONG WELL THROUGH THIS. I AM SADDENED TO SEE MY FRIENDS GO,BUT, WE WILL ALL BE TOGETHER AGAIN SOMEDAY. MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY ANNETTE SCHMIDT(GREEN) ALSO THANKS FOR SERVING OUR COUNTRY FOR OUR FREEDOM!!!! ANNETTE SCHMIDT - November 21, 2011 at 04:54 PM Paula ,we were shocked and saddened to see Johns obituary in the Indpls Star. Although we haven't seen you or John for years, people from our past are always in " the back of our minds and hearts. We don't know the circumstance surrounding Johns death, but whatever it was, we hope he didn't have to suffer. May you and the rest of Johns family, know that you are in our thoughts and prayers and may his memories keep him alive in your heart. Theresa Perkins and Kandi Morgan - November 21, 2011 at 04:54 PM
