Joseph G. Lancello

Joseph G. "Joe" Lancello, age 101 passed away October 21, 2023, in Greenfield. He was born March 7, 1922, in Port Chester, New York to the late Paul and Margaret (Zimbalatti) Lancello.

Joe was a 1941 graduate of White Plains High School. He served for over 3 years in the 15th Army Air Corp during WWII in Italy and Africa. After his honorable discharge Joe received his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. He married the love of his life Jean Ruth (Fitzgerald) in 1950. He enjoyed a 33-year career as a senior engineer with Western Electric. He served as an officer in many social and technical organizations. Joe was an avid handyman and computer enthusiast.

Joe is survived by his children; David (Christy) Lancello, and Joan Hancock, grandchildren; Cindy (Joseph) Palumbo, and Jessica (Jon) McCrea, great grandchildren; Jean Palumbo, Adam Palumbo, Louise McCrea and, Alice McCrea.

He is preceded in death by his parents and wife of 63 years Jean Ruth Lancello.

Friends may call 10:00 am until 11:00 am, Thursday, October 26, 2023, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, Indiana 46140. Funeral service at 11:00 am with David Bourne officiating. Burial with military rites immediately following at Park Cemetery, Greenfield.
