Joseph S. Thompson

Joseph S. Thompson, age 99 of Greenfield, IN passed away on Thursday, September 8th 2016 in Greenfield. He was born on October 31st 1916 in Hancock County to the late Robert and Hazel (Moore) Wood Thompson Joseph graduated from Greenfield High School and would attend Purdue University. He married Lois H. Hooton on September 6th 1941. Joseph served in the United States Army from 1942 to 1945 during WWII which included a tour in France. He attended the Greenfield Christian Church and was active in the Elks Lodge, and American Legion. He was also the Postmaster in Greenfield for several years. Surviving Joseph is his son; Ramon Thompson of Pekin, IN; daughter; Jo Nell (Donald) Polston of Greenfield; grandchildren; Chris (Dana) Thompson, Barry (Leiah) Thompson, Kelsi (Jeremy) Bricker, Kyle Westfall, 6 great-grandchildren, and 2 great great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death are his parents listed above; wife Lois Hooton Thompson; son, Roger Thompson; 2 sisters; and 2 brothers. Services will be private with burial at Park Cemetery in Greenfield. Arrangements have been entrusted to Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, IN 46140.
