Juan Rodriquez Guzman

March 27, 1930 — July 10, 2025

Juan Rodriquez Guzman, 95 years young, Greenfield, passed peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ while at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, July 10, 2025. Juan was born on March 27, 1930, in Dr. Arroyo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, to parents Anastacio and Atanacia (Rodriguez) Guzman. He married the love of his life, Jonnie Ann Roberson, on Valentine's Day 1958.

Juan started working at Ralph Hockett Motors, Fortville and then Greenfield, in 1956. He dedicated himself and his car detailing skills for two years, before venturing out on his own. Most in the community know Juan as the hat-wearing car detailing king of "House of Magic" in Greenfield. Not only did fellow Greenfieldlites and Greenfield dealerships seek out Juan's touch of magic, but so, too, did many, large dealerships surrounding Hancock County, from Knightstown, Fortville, Shelbyville, Morristown, Marion and Indianapolis to name a few. Many question why Juan labeled his business the "House of Magic" and his response was because when asked how he turned dingy, dilapidated cars into spit-shining, attractive rides, he said it was "magic." He tended the outside of vehicles while Jonnie tended the inside. At times, he employed nearly 20 employees. Most Friday's, he would close shop at noon, have a cookout for the crew, and play music through the evening. Juan worked from dawn to dusk every single day. To say he was a hard worker was an understatement. When not working, Juan enjoyed watching wrestling, reliving the good ol' days via many stories, greeting fellow neighbors and strangers alike with his famous phrase, "Hello, my Friend", helping others in need, dancing, and spending quality time with family. But above all, Juan was an extremely compassionate, loving, and caring husband to Jonnie and a pillar of warmth, knowledge, safety, and protection to their growing family of 8 children. He lived and experienced a long, great, selfless life. He was a good man and good to others, always lent a hand to those less fortunate, knew no stranger, and provided the foundation for his family to excel. He worshiped at St. Michael Catholic Church.

Juan is survived by his loving wife, Jonnie of 67+ years; their children: Hector Guzman, David (Rene) Guzman, Teresa (Mark) VanderMeulen, Juan Jr. (Wendy) Guzman, Daniel (Nyla) Guzman, Lisa (Chris) Duvall, Gina (Doug) Inscore, and Angela Guzman; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sister, Rela Villescas; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Sabino Guzman and Nazario Guzman; and sister, Faustina Segovia.

At this time, and per Juan's request, there will not be any visitation or service. Stillinger Family Funeral Home is assisting the Guzman family during this difficult time of loss.
