Julia Lou Bowen, 62, of Greenfield, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family and loved ones.
Born in Columbus, Ohio, to Edwin and Maxine (Ison) Bowen, Julia was one of seven children and cherished being part of a large, close-knit family. She graduated from Knightstown High School and later went on to build a loving family of her own.
Julia was the devoted mother of three daughters—Heather, Hilliary, and Haley—who were truly her whole world. She was an avid baker who delighted in making everything from homemade bread to a variety of cookies and sweet treats. Each of her daughters had a favorite specialty from Mom's kitchen: Heather loved her zucchini bread, Hilliary adored her snickerdoodles, and Haley's favorite was her peanut butter balls.
As her daughters grew and started families of their own, Julia embraced her cherished role as "Mam Mam" to her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. Nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with her family, creating memories, and sharing her love through the simple joys of life.
Julia is survived by her daughters, Heather Gibson (Heather Neale), Hilliary Gibson, and Haley Gibson; her grandchildren, Jay Valdry, Autum Valdry, Arianna Valdry, Aidyn Valdry, Paislee Caplinger, Aubree Caplinger, Cohen Gibson, and Callie Gibson; and her siblings, Sandra Niece (David), Robert Bowen (Joy), Connie Zapf (Charles), Freida Smith (Rex), Brenda Bowen (Duane), and Barbara Bruner (Chad).
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Maxine Bowen, and her beloved grandson, Easton Gibson.
