Kathleen Ellis

Kathleen "Kay" Ellis, age 83, passed away Friday, July 19, 2019 at Rittenhouse Assisted Living in Indianapolis. She was born September 6, 1935 in Indianapolis to the late Leo and Clara (Lenihan) Seifert. Kay married Rex J. Ellis on November 27, 1965. Together they made their home in Greenfield. Kay graduated from New Palestine high school in 1952. Kay was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church where she was a Eucharist Minister and belonged to the ladies club, also enjoying bowling and euchre. She was a loving happy soul, who was thankful for everything, everyone and always had a smile on her face. She retired from the Ft. Benjamin Harrison Finance Center in 1972. She is survived by her son, Rex A. Ellis; stepdaughters, Mindy Burns, Stacey Clark; brothers, Michael Seifert; and sister, Mary Willman. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rex J. Ellis in 1996; stepdaughter Janice Ellis and siblings, Joseph Seifert, Bernard Seifert, John Seifert, Anna Breunig and Carolyn McKeeman. Visitation will be 4-7 pm, Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main St., Greenfield, Indiana 46140. Mass of Christian Burial 10 am, Thursday at St. Michael Catholic Church, 519 Jefferson Blvd. Greenfield with Father Aaron Jenkins officiating.
