Kenneth T. Schmitt

Kenneth T. Schmitt, age 76 of New Castle, IN passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. He was born on January 9, 1940 in Posey County, IN to the late Joseph & Geneva (Ziliak) Schmitt. Kenneth graduated from Haubstadt High School and later attended Tri-State University in Angola. He married the love of his life Marcia (Templin) Schmitt on April 8, 1961. Kenneth worked as Sales Manager at Diamond Container Paper Co. He was a member of the Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity. He loved to hunt, fish & spend time outdoors. Kenneth was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Greenfield. Surviving Kenneth is his wife of 55 years, Marcia Schmitt of New Castle; son, Ted (Kelly) Schmitt of Seattle, WA; daughters, Karin Schmitt of Indianapolis; Kathy (Greg) Buck of Bremen, IN; Gretchen (George) Swapp of Seattle, WA; brothers, Eddie Schmitt of Mt. Carmel, IL; Tom Schmitt of Haubstadt, IN; Fred Schmitt of Henderson, KY; sisters, Rose Vincent of Seaford, DE; Mary Winiger of Evansville, IN. Preceding him in death are his parents listed above; and brothers, Paul & Marvin Schmitt. Visitation for Kenneth will be held from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, IN 46140. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Friday, December 9, 2016 at St. Michael Catholic Church, 519 Jefferson Blvd, Greenfield, IN 46140 with Fr. Aaron Jenkins officiating.
