Larry D. Cole died on November 26th 2016 at his residence surrounding by his family. Mr. Cole was born on September 6th, 1939 to Hubert Cole and Pearl Wright-Reeder of Mount Hope West Virginia. Mr. Cole joined the United States Army and served from December 1956 to December 1959 abroad in Korea. During the service to his country, Mr. Cole married his wife of 59 years Emma A. (Anderson) Cole and she survives. Together, they had a family consisting of three-3 sons: Anthony Cole, Vernon (Patty) Cole and Christopher Cole; two-2 grandchildren: Brittny Rouse and Aaron Cole and four-4 great grandchildren: Hayden Rouse, Madisyn Rouse, Emalee Cole and Christian Cole. Mr. Cole is survived by his sister, Janice Stanley. Mr. Cole also had several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Cole supported his family working for American Trailer in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and was self-employed in construction in the Greenfield area.
Mr. Cole was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing, hunting, gardening and camping. Mr. Cole loved to visit with friends, swap tales of fishing and hunting while enjoying a good cup of coffee. Mr. Cole almost always had his trademark cup of coffee in his possession regardless of the time of day. Mr. Cole also enjoyed watching the Indianapolis Colts and Indiana University basketball. Mr. Cole was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Greenfield.
Calling for Mr. Cole will be 4-8 pm, Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield Indiana 46140. Funeral service will be held 10 am, Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Bethel Baptist Church 1610 South State Road 9, Greenfield with Pastor Randall Parker officiating. Burial with military rites provided by the Greenfield Veterans Honor Guard immediately following the service at Park Cemetery, Greenfield.
