Larry Wayne Jessup

Larry Wayne Jessup, 86, Greenfield, passed into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 30, 2024, after a courageous battle. He was at home, surrounded by his loving family. Larry was born on September 21, 1938, in Beech Grove, IN, to John Wayne and Violet Catherine (Timpe) Jessup. Larry graduated from Greenfield High School in 1956, where he was an accomplished athlete. He married the love of his life, J'Nene Frances Wellinghoff, on June 18, 1960.

Larry loved working in the yard, fishing, camping, and watching sports. For 60 years, he and J'Nene shared a special friendship and developed dinner club outings with Joe and Peggy Hager, Paul and Barb Neal, and Tom and Carole Stevens. Larry loved being around his family and especially enjoyed time well spent with his children and grandchildren. Larry was a member of UAW Local 1111 as well as the Jaycees. He worked at Mooney-Mueller-Ward packaging medication where a chance encounter introduced him to J'Nene. He then transitioned to Gobles Printing where he ran the printing presses. Larry concluded his employment work history with Ford Motor Company with an accomplished 30 years of dedication, retiring in 1999. Larry was a member of New Palestine Christian Church and had also attended Shiloh Christian Church.

Larry is survived by his loving wife, J'Nene, of 64 years; their children: Bernard (Jenny) Jessup, Lisa (Jeff) Sauer, Abby (Larry) Lincoln, and Mary (Rex) Griffin; 11 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Jacqueline Masterson; brother, Gerald Jessup; and many nieces and nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., also at the funeral home, with ministers Russ Jarvis and Daren Huber officiating. Entombment will be in Washington Park Cemetery.
