Larry Joe Salyers

Larry Joe Salyers, 72 of Greenfield, IN passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on August 28, 1945 in Indianapolis to the late Sam & Mary (Welling) Salyers. Larry graduated from New Palestine High School and received his Associates Degree from Indiana Business College. He enjoyed an extensive career at Allison Transmission and retired from Rolls Royce in January of 2003. Larry married the love of his life, Linda (Sparks) Salyers on June 11, 1967. He enjoyed his family and was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He was a member of Amity United Methodist Church and enjoyed collecting model trains. Surviving Larry is his wife, Linda Salyers; son, Brett (Kelsie) Salyers of Bowling Green, OH; daughters, Rachel (Brian) Dougherty of Albany, GA; Holly (Brian) Ma of Fishers, IN; grandchildren, Colin and Caroline Dougherty; Karlie and Blake Salyers and Alexander Ma. Preceding Larry in death are his parents mentioned above; and brother, Jerry Wayne Salyers. Visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Monday, October 9, 2017 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield, 1780 W. Main St, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at the funeral home with Pastor Ford Bond officiating. Burial will follow the service at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
