Larry Eugene Woodruff, 64, Greenfield, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Saturday, February 22, 2025, after he passed away unexpectedly. Larry was born on July 28, 1960, in Greenfield, IN, to Donald Joe and Maxine Lou (Kelly) Woodruff. He is a 1977 graduate of Greenfield Central High School. Larry married his high school sweetheart Deborah Lois Ivey on November 10, 1978.
Larry led by example. He was a great example in a fruitful marriage of 46 years, a hero for his children and grandchildren to look up to, a true patriotic citizen of the USA, a stellar servant of the Lord, and a teaching mentor for his work colleagues in success. He held a wealth of knowledge. Larry was inseparable with his life partner Deborah. They always had each other's back, encouraged and praised one another, raised and nurtured their daughters in a strong household, and enjoyed life to the fullest in the latter years. Larry loved to work with his hands and could often be found creating objects with wood and lumber. He enjoyed camping, fishing, attending the Anderson Speedway, four-legged dog companions, building campfires, and spending time with family. His faith was strong at Faith Baptist Church. Larry worked 20 years as a journeyman lineman for Nine Star Connect, retiring in 2013. He was a member of IBEW Local 1393 since 1978.
Larry lived for his family. Larry lived for this community. Larry lived for his freedom and waved his American flag proudly. Larry lived for God. There was also no hour too late when one was in need of electrical and/or power matters. He was always on call.
Larry is survived by his loving wife Deborah of 46 years; his girls, Crystal (James) and Elizabeth (Jeffrey); grandchildren, Brooklyn, Breanna, CJ, Kolten, and Makenna; great-grandchild, Messiah; two dogs, Max and Copper; sister, Debra Broyles; and many nieces and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Vernon Joe Woodruff, David Lee Woodruff, and twin sisters, Cindy and Sandy.
