In Loving Memory of Linda "Adeen" Hargrove
Linda "Adeen" Brooks Hargrove, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and treasured friend, passed away on July 26, 2025, at the age of 76. Her contagious energy, deep compassion, and unwavering love for her family and friends left a legacy of kindness, honesty, and service that will live on in all who knew her.
She was well known in the Greenfield community as a talented hairdresser. A lifelong caregiver and a natural nurturer, Adeen had a remarkable gift for making others feel valued and supported. Whether it was through a warm embrace, a home-cooked meal, or a few candid words of wisdom, she always showed up with sincerity and strength. Her honesty was refreshing, and her love was steadfast rooted deeply in the joy she found in serving others.
A devoted member of her community, Adeen was an honorary active member of the Psi Iota Xi Sorority for 37 years. Her dedication and contributions were recognized with the prestigious Psi Iota Xi Lifetime Achievement Award, an honor that reflected her tireless work and passion for giving back. She also took pride in her membership with her local home economics club, where she built lifelong friendships and shared her talents with others.
Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. As a cherished member of Willow Branch United Methodist Church and United Women of Faith, Adeen found great joy in worship, fellowship, and spiritual service. Her church family was dear to her heart, and she poured her energy into every mission, event, and gathering with a servant's heart and joyful spirit.
To know Adeen was to experience love in action. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernice and Helen Brooks. She leaves behind her devoted husband, John R. Hargrove; loving children, Julie (Brian) Armstrong and Lisa (Cale and the late Doug Deeter) Martin; seven adoring grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; brothers Larry (Vicki) and Lynn (Nila) Brooks; and countless friends who became family over the years. Her legacy is etched in every life she touched—with laughter, truth, and unwavering support.
Her absence leaves a void that can never be filled, but her spirit will continue to inspire those she leaves behind. She taught us how to love unconditionally, serve wholeheartedly, and live fully.
