Linda Kay (Curtsinger) Bledsoe, 76, Indianapolis, passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Thursday, October 30, 2025; the same date as her wedding anniversary to her beloved husband, Dan Sanford Bledsoe, Sr. As family was of the utmost to Linda, her children and grandchildren stood close as she transitioned. Linda and her twin sister Brenda Fay were born on June 4, 1949, in Indianapolis, to Robert and Lucy Ann (Atwood) Curtsinger. Linda is a graduate of Warren Central High School.
At the young age of 14, Linda met the love of her life, Dan. Due to her wise mother, advising her not to marry too young, she waited to marry Dan until after she graduated and established a bit of a work career, on October 30, 1970.
Working since she was also 14, Linda was not afraid of commitment. She and Dan would welcome 3 children into their bustling home. As Linda so enjoyed seeing her children run around, seek out curiosity, grow, and mature, she and Dan decided staying at home to tend to their every need was the best employment she could find. Throughout the children's lives, she taught them and learned from them, patience, kindness, abounding love, warmth, and care. She was always present in the children's lives by also attending baseball games, football games, and the scouts. She shared with her children that loving thy neighbor was always a great practice to follow.
As the children aged and moved onward, Linda decided to go back to work at Fort Harrison military post. She remained with them for many years. And, as the grandchildren soon came along, Linda was the first to spoil them. But, better yet, she also instilled in them the same characteristics she instilled in her own children; be kind, love one another, share, give, and hold one another close. As one of Linda's passions encompassed cooking and baking, she also taught the grandchildren how to do the same. Linda made excellent rum cakes and upside-down pineapple cakes. She attended their ball games and outings and even raised all in her own home. She took great pride in the grandchildren.
As if the relationships between Linda and her children and Linda and her grandchildren were not enough, the relationship between Linda and Dan was even more romantic. They met at a young age, wed, started their family at a younger age, raised their family as a unit, never fought, always loved one another, celebrated multiple milestones together, and bittersweetly passed away just shy of one another, and she on their anniversary date. Dan treated Linda like a queen, and Linda treated Dan like a king. They truly were made for one another.
In the absence of Dan, continuing onward was not only lonesome for Linda, but rewarding, as her courage, commitment to family, friends and neighbors, and her guiding light remained strong. Linda was humble, sharing, giving, and selfless to the very end. Her children remember her spreading light to all, as the world had become a bit dim over the years.
Linda is survived by her loving children, Tracy (Mario) Bledsoe-Lopez and John (Katrina) Bledsoe, Sr.; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; siblings, Mike (Dominga) Payton, Caroline Sue Miller, and Della (David) Cannon; several nieces and nephews; and countless friends and neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Curtsinger; mother, Lucy Ann Holt; twin sister, Brenda Fay Curtsinger; son, Dan Sanford Bledsoe, Jr; beloved husband of 55 years, Dan Sanford Bledsoe, Sr; and siblings, David Payton, Shirley Thompson, Waymon Holt, and Roger Curtsinger.
