Linda M Jones

Linda M. Jones, 70 years, a resident of Greenfield, Indiana passed away Sunday morning January 26, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born September 24, 1954, in Corpus Christi, Texas to Pete Piazza and Josephine (Sherry) Mecham.

Linda graduated in 1973 from Irvington High School and attended Ohlone College both in Fremont, Calif. She was a self-employed Amsoil Distributer, attended Park Chapel Christian Church, was member of the Rotary Club of Greenfield, member and past president of the Sunrise Rotary Club, an active member of the Riley Festival committee, Hancock County Chamber of Commerce, Women Helping Women Committee, and delivered meals for Meals on Wheels of Hancock County. Linda loved the community she lived in, gave unselfishly of herself and was awarded the Lifetime Distinguished Service Award by Greenfield Mayor Guy Titus. She enjoyed the time she spent with her husband, Darrel, children, grandchildren, spending time at their home and on their pontoon boat at Lake Santee. Much of her time was spent outdoors, playing euchre and she was an avid wine connoisseur.

Linda is survived by her husband, Darrel Jones, children, David Nowell, Jason Nowell, Jenna (Tim) Plunket, Gregory Jones, Shane (Nicole) Jones, sister, Debbie Brown, grand-children, Emma, Shelby, Carley, Grayson, Alyse, Kolton, Madi, June, Josie, nieces, Rosalie, Nicole and nephew, Dylan.

She was preceded in death by her parents listed above, stepmother, Barbara Piazza, and her granddaughter, Lillian Plunkett.

Visitation will be 12:00 pm until 3:00 pm Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, 1780 W. Main Street, Greenfield, IN 46140. Funeral service will follow 3:00 pm at the funeral home with David Barnett officiating.
