Lois Starleen (Froedge) Eastes

Lois Starleen (Froedge) Eastes, 81, Knightstown, formerly of Kokomo, passed away with her loving children and caregiver surrounding her, on Sunday, November 21, 2021. Lois was born on November 8, 1940, in Edmonton, KY, to Johnny and Ovie (Dullin) Froedge. She attended Edmonton High School. Lois married Edward E. Eastes on March 14, 1975. She worked at Kokomo's Big Lots for many, many years as the store's manager, retiring in 2010. She loved to crochet and found great joy in making scarves for the homeless in Kokomo via the We Care program. Lois also enjoyed riding motorcycles with her husband, watching the sky and its cloud formations, as well as smiling when red birds or butterflies crossed her path. Lois was a member of the American Legion in Morristown. Lois also found great joy in caring for her beloved cat, Nic. Lois is survived by her loving children: Ovie Caroline Phillips (Curtis Long), Barbara Ann (John) Anderson, Tanya Lynn (Kenny) Parham, Darren E. (Lisa) Eastes, and David E. (Katy) Eastes; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; main caregiver, Markie Alford; best friend, Doris; and beloved four-legged friend, Nic. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 42 years, Edward; son, Leonard Dillard, Jr.; and siblings: Levi Marshal Froedge, James Timothy Froedge, and Cicil Andrew Froedge. Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 from 12:00 noon to 1:45 pm at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, with a short funeral service immediately following, conducted by her loving daughter, Barbara. Family and friends will then gather at Park Cemetery, Greenfield, at 2:30 pm for the committal service of not only Lois, but her loving husband and their loving son.
