Lois Marie Stephens

Lois Marie Stephens, 95, Greenfield, passed away April 10, 2021. Lois was born into a very large and loving family on August 17, 1925 in Jamestown, KY, to Horace and Rosa (Thomas) Gossage. She married her love Joseph A. Stephens on September 9, 1941. Lois was the matriarch of her family; always a go-to, always available to lend an ear for, always available to give a hug to. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church for many years. Lois's ultimate enjoyment was to quilt. She worked at Marion County Healthcare Center from 1961-1987 as a dietary aide before retiring. Lois is survived by her loving children: Larry Stephens, Janice (Bob) Blackford, Judy Kimberlin, Jerry Stephens, and Darrell Stephens; 17 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and 31 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph Stephens; 9 siblings; and son, James Stephens. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 16, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield. The funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Tommy Hensley officiating. Burial will take place in Park Cemetery.
