Loretta June Coots, 78, formerly of Fort Wayne and Wabash, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2021 at her new residence in Greenfield. Loretta was born on June 14, 1942 in Ovenfork, KY, to Charlie and Lora (Maggard) Boggs. Loretta married her love Jackie Donald Coots on September 5, 1959 prior to his enlistment into the U.S. Air Force. As Jackie traveled around the world serving our country for 22 ½ years, Loretta gladly accompanied him. She was employed at numerous places of employment, learned the different cultures, and made many friends along the way. Loretta collected Precious Moments figurines. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Jackie Coots and their son and his wife, Norman Randolph Coots (Carol Denise). Visitation will take place on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 from 12:00 noon to 1:45 p.m. at Marion VA Hospital, the church chapel, 1700 E. 38th Street, Marion, IN 46953. A limited amount of 50 persons may gather at one time within the Chapel. A stern reminder that appropriately-worn face masks will be required. Burial will follow in Marion National Cemetery, next door to the church chapel, at 2:00 p.m. with a limit of 10 persons gathering.
