Louis Delfiandra

Louis "Jerry" Delfiandra September 11, 1928 - December 21, 2012 Louis Gerald (Jerry) DelFiandra age 84, a resident of Greenfield passed away Friday December 21, 2012 at his home. He was born September 11, 1928 in Steubenville, Ohio to the late Louis R. DelFiandra and Gladys (Grafton) DelFiandra. Jerry graduated from Steubenville High School in 1946 and from Miami University, Oxford Ohio. He served in US Marine Corps for 6 years and spent 2 years in China. Jerrys passion was music and he played horn in numerous musical groups around Indianapolis and Hancock County. He also loved to make people laugh. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, De King DelFiandra and his grandson, Michael Louis DelFiandra, Wellington, Florida. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents and by his daughter, Toni DelFiandra. There will be a private graveside service at Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Brandywine Wind Band and the Greenfield Community Choir. Comments Jerry was one of the kindest hearts I ever had the luck to meet. I never saw him without a smile and that smile was infectous. I had the priviledge of making music " with him the last few years and he was always a highlight at rehearsals for me. He taught me things and for me that always creates a special place in my heart for someone. He will be missed. I saw him be comfortable with Jazz styles and was diligent as a section " player..He showed a sensitivity to others and was always encouraging. He will definitely be missed for what he conributed as a musician,but mostly for his joy making music and laughter! Larry E.
