Lynn LaVon Shultz, 78, Wilkinson, IN, passed away on October 17, 2024. Lynn was born on May 2, 1946, in Fort Wayne, IN, to Robert LaVern and Ruth Marie (Lawrence) Shultz. Lynn attended Harrison Elementary, Parker Junior High, and Ridgeville High School. He earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from Ball State University in art education.
Lynn was a quiet man. He often chronicled and documented all matters. He was a member of Knightstown Baptist Church, a boy scout patrol leader, a cub scout leader, a member of 4-H, played the drums in band, was in G club athletics, was a member of the Evangelical United Brothern Youth, AWANA, the Black Keys, as well as a member of the Latin Club. Throughout school Lynn participated in baseball, basketball, track, and cross country. Amongst his accomplishments, Lynn received numerous athletic awards. He was senior class president, G Club senior year president, junior class secretary, and little league baseball coach. Lynn served in the U.S. National Guard as a specialist 4th class in Vietnam, 1969. Lynn taught art classes for middle to high school-aged children at Eastern Hancock School Corporation from 1974—2010.
Lynn is survived by his loving son, Sam (Brittnie) Shultz; step-sons, Craig (Audrey) Wallace and Curt (Abby) Wallace; grandchildren, Gavin Shultz and Brylee Shultz; step-grandchildren, Ethan Wallace, Esai Wallace, Emily Evans, and Noah Wallace; great-step-grandchildren, Dixie Evans and Paul Wallace; brother, Les (Linda) Shultz; and mother of his child, Cindi Shultz.
Lynn was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Lee Shultz.
Visitation will be on Thursday, October 24, 2024, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, with the funeral service immediately following at 1:00 pm, all at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, IN 46140. Lynn will be laid to rest next to his uncle and grandmother in Columbia City. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Eastern Hancock Education Foundation, for Lynn's love of art education.
