Madrue E. (Taylor) Grinstead

Madrue E. (Taylor) Grinstead, 95, Greenfield, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2023. She was born on October 17, 1927, in Russellville, Alabama, to Walter and Annie (Smith) Taylor.

Madrue was very involved in her church, Greenfield Church of Christ. Additionally, she loved spending quality time with her daughters and grandchildren, whether that be playing card games or baking cookies. She had a green-thumb and enjoyed crafts.

She is survived by her loving daughters: Cheryl (Larry W.) Arnold, Jeanne (Joel) Justiss, and Janice (Steve) Appleby; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Madrue was preceded in death by her parents; first husband and father of her children, John W. Dobbins; second husband, Ralph Grinstead; sons: John Dobbins, Lloyd Dobbins, and Michael Dobbins; grandson, Benjamin Justiss; sisters: Mildred Dobbins and Eunice Zolner; and step-children: Everett Grinstead, Marvin Grinstead, Marian Miller, Faye Guinn, and Kay Pennington.

Visitation will be on Friday, February 3, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, with the service immediately following at the funeral home.
