Marcia Jo (Welch) Shiffler, age 68, passed away peacefully in Greenfield Indiana on March 8, 2024, after succumbing to injuries she sustained from a house fire in late January. Before she passed away, she was surrounded by her loving husband and her two great friends, Masha and Daniel Anderson. Marcia was born on January 10, 1956, in Union City, Indiana, to Charles and Wanda Welch.
Marcia graduated from Mississinawa Valley High School class of 1974. She worked at the Center of Hope in Union City and retired after twenty-four years. Marcia met and married the love of her life, David Shiffler, and they enjoyed over 20 years of marriage together. She was a member of Maxville Christian Church in Winchester, Indiana.
Marcia enjoyed shopping and going to Dairy Queen for ice cream with her friend Marcha Anderson. She also loved to cook and loved spending time with her husband, David.
Marcia leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, David; her brother, Fredrick (Sandra) Welch; nieces, Auneta Herr, and Amy Mattox; nephews, Victor Hartzell, Mark Welch and Eric Welch.
She was preceded by her parents, her sister, Frances (Elden) Hartzell, her infant sister, Janice Welch and her nephew Charles Hartzell.
There will be a Celebration of Life in Marcia's honor at Maxville Christian Church at a later date.
