Mardella Lou (Anderson) Spears

Mardella L. "Mardy" (Anderson) Spears, age 85 of Greenfield, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 17, 1937, in New Castle, Indiana to the late Harold and Alice (Fleming) Anderson. Mardella was a 1955 graduate of Knightstown High School.

Mardella attended Bethel Presbyterian Church in Knightstown for many years. She was a long-time member of Psi Iota Xi Sorority, Gamma Eta Chapter, Knightstown. She enjoyed collecting antiques, but more than anything else, she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Known as "Meme" to the ones who loved her most, she is survived by her children: Derek (Jerri) Spears, Michele (Mike) McGill, and Patrick (Deb) Spears; sister, Alice Jeannene King; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Mardella is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald "Frank" Spears in 2000, and her parents mentioned above.

Visitation will be from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Thursday, January 12, 2023, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield 46140 with Mardella's beloved Psi Iota Xi Sorority conducting a tribute. The funeral service with Pastor David Woods officiating, will be at 11:00 am, Friday, January 13, 2023, at the funeral home with burial immediately following at Glen Cove Cemetery, Knightstown.   Memorial contributions in honor of Mardella may be sent to Psi Iota Xi Sorority, Gamma Eta Chapter, 36 Pearl Street, Knightstown, Indiana 46148.
