Margot (Peg) Harrison Strickland, 81, Greenfield, Ind., died December 26, 2009 in Greenfield.
She was born May 11, 1928 in Indianapolis to Carter H. and Opal L. (Rafferty) Harrison.
Mrs. Strickland taught in the Greenfield-Central School Corporation from 1966 to 1982. She received her bachelors degree in education from Butler University, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. She received her masters degree in education from Ball State University.
She was a founder and served as president for seven years of the Hancock County Adult Literacy Coalition.
She was a member of the Greenfield Christian Church, Tri Kappa sorority, the Indiana State Teachers Association and the Greenfield Country Club.
Survivors include three sons, Thomas (Joyce), Greenfield, and Timothy and Matthew (Nancy), both of Fortville; three grandchildren, Emily and Adam, both of Greenfield, and James, Columbia Missouri; and two great-granddaughters, Olivia and Marly, both of Greenfield
Her husband, Robert H. Strickland; her sister, Charlene H. Schenk; and her parents preceded her in death.
There will be no calling or services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, Greenfield.
