Marjorie J. Margie Bender

Marjorie J. "Margie" Bender, age 56 of Greenfield passed away on Monday, May 9, 2016 at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, PA. She was born on May 17, 1959 in Corydon, Indiana to the late John W. and Jean (Hughes) Walker. Margie was a 1977 graduate of Greenfield-Central High School and attended Indiana State University where she was a member of Chi Omega sorority. She married the love of her life, Stephen Bender, on August 16, 1980. She spent most of her life working for the Greenfield-Central Community School Corp. Margie was a member of Tri Kappa and enjoyed volunteering for the Meals on Wheels of Hancock County. She was a very creative artist and loved being outdoors and tending to her flower garden. Margie cherished spending time with her family, which included going to concerts, going on numerous day trips, or just sitting in the backyard listening to music by the fire. Surviving Margie is her husband, Stephen Bender of Greenfield; son, Logan Bender of Indianapolis; daughter, Amy Bender of Indianapolis; brother, Joe (Donna) Walker of St. Louis, MO; and her sister, Sally Geile of Indianapolis. Preceding her in death are her parents listed above. Visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield, 1780 W. Main St. Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, May 20, 2016 at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow the service at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
